SEASIDE, Calif. - On Saturday night, Seaside Police said they searched for wanted suspect Glenn Edwards by land and air.

Officers said they got a tip Edwards may have been near Playa and Fremont around 9:00pm.  When officers approached him, he took off running and leading them on a foot chase.  Officers said they believe Edwards had a weapon on him because a few minutes later, they heard a gunshot.

Del Rey Oaks Police, Sand City Police, the Monterey County Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol helped Seaside Police with the search for Edwards lasting several hours.  A CHP helicopter with a high-powered spotlight was used to search for Edwards on the ground.

Officers were unable to find Edwards.

Glenn Edwards was first featured on Manhunt Monday in January of 2012 as a suspect on Manhunt Monday.  At the time, he was wanted for resisting/delaying an officer, theft of a bicycle and an outstanding felony warrant charging burglary along with numerous other charges.  He had been captured shortly after his appearance on Manhunt Monday in 2012, but is now on the run once again.
