LOMPOC - The financial picture in the City of Lompoc is strong and getting stronger.
That's what city managers are telling Central Coast News.
They say a rebound in sales and property tax revenue is helping the city dig out of a $5 million budget shortfall.
The Lompoc City Council, city department heads and the public were given a comprehensive status report on the city's current and future outlook in a "State of the City" address at City Hall on Tuesday.
"The next time we have some ups we should probably set aside some money for the rainy days", says David Wilkie from the city's management staff, "when we have some rainy days we can utilize some of those funds to levelize our ability to provide services to the community."
The City Council will soon begin the long process of approving a new, two-year budget in June.
