PRETORIA, South Africa- Police have confirmed that 29-year-old, Reeva Steenkamp, a model and girlfriend of Oscar Pistorius, the double amputee runner that participated in the summer Olympics, was shot and killed inside their home.
Police found a gun inside the home and arrested the 26-year-old runner and charged him with murder. Pistorius will appear in front of a court Thursday in the country's capitol.
Investigators are still processing evidence but according to CBS News, a South African media outlet reported that the athlete may have mistaken Steenkamp as an intruder but police say there was no sign of forced entry.
Police told CBS News that they have responded to multiple "allegations of domestic nature" but would not give details about the calls.
