SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- A motor home in Santa Cruz was completely destroyed Wednesday night after it went up in flames.
According to Santa Cruz City Fire, it happened in the area of Misstion Street and Fair Avenue just before 8:00 p.m.
The fire was caused by a broken fuel pump that the owner was trying to fix. Fumes and gas had spilled in the engine compartment which is inside the motor home and when he tried to start the vehicle it ignited the gas.
The owner was able to escape from the motor home.
