SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley has sent a Petition for Review and a request for a stay to the California Supreme Court asking the State Supreme Court to overturn the Appellate Court ruling that sexually violent predator, Tibor Karsai, can be released in Santa Barbara County as a transient.
District Attorney Dudley is also asked the court to order Karsai to stay in custody until the State Supreme Court makes a decision.
This comes after 20 months of the District Attorney's office successfully blocking Karsai's release in Santa Barbara County.
The District Attorney's office says, "District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley is devoted to keeping Santa Barbara safe. Toward that end she is committed to continue to fight the release of any Sexually Violent Predator, as a transient, anywhere in Santa Barbara County."
