Horseless Carriage Convention Rolls Into Santa Maria

Posted: Updated:

SANTA MARIA - Santa Maria hotels and restaurants are getting a boost thanks to a trip back in time.

The 76th Annual Horseless Carriage Club of America Convention has rolled into town.

Dozens of original Ford Model T's and other vehicles from the early 1900's will be on display at the Historic Santa Maria Inn.

The best time to view the vintage vehicles is early in the morning before 8:00am and between 12:00 and 2:00pm on Saturday.

"The only car that has ever exceeded the Model T in production records was the Volkswagen Beetle", says convention participant Mac MacPherson of Escondido, Ca.

You will see the throwback cars on the road in various locations on the Central Coast during daily touring excursions.

Owners have come in from across California and the country for the convention that run through the middle of next week.
