SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The San Luis Coastal School District has voted unanimously to keep Teach Elementary open for the next school year.
Assistant Superintendent Rick Robinett tells Central Coast News that the alternative school for accelerated students will remain open for the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade levels. Currently, the school shares its campus with Bishop's Peak Elementary, which has been experiencing financial problems.
Robinett says there will be more limitations on accepting new students. The district will also hire a new task force to monitor the campus over the next year to determine it's feasibility for the next school year.
Charles E. Teach Elementary is an alternative school for about 150 accelerated learning students.
