SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - County officials held a public meeting on Wednesday night to discuss the Amgen Tour of California that is peddling through the Central Coast in a few short months.
The room was crowded at the PG&E Education Center to talk about Stage 5 going through Avila Beach.
Although some voiced their concerns about traffic and parking, most agree that the tour will be beneficial for the area's tourism. This is the first time Avila Beach is hosting the tour.
On Stage 5 of the tour, riders will go over the San Marcos Pass, through Orcutt and Guadalupe, then go through Arroyo Grande and end in Avila Beach.
