SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Nearly 1.500 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo students and
community members are teaming up to package meals and raise money for
malnourished kids overseas.
Volunteers are working to package more than 200,000 meals and
raise $44,000.
Every day, 18,000 children die of starvation around the globe and students
says they are taking a stand against world hunger.
"F.E.M.A. Starving Children send meals to over 67 countries worldwide and
some of the places, we highlighted," says student coordinator Jordan Mason.
"Haiti is the number one place at 185 million meals but
they ship around the globe."
People will be packaging meals and raising money
again tomorrow.
They expect to ship the meals off within the
next two weeks.
