PASO ROBLES, Calif. - A Paso Robles family is mourning, after a loved one was shot to death Saturday night.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Spring Street.

Neighbors, family members and friends are grieving after a senseless shooting right outside their homes.

"You only hear a 'pop, pop'--loud like 'bang, bang'," says neighbor Lisa Fedon.

Fedon heard it all happen.

"I grabbed a towel to wrap around his head to keep the pressure, to keep him from bleeding out," says Fedon. "But it didn't work."

Fedon says she heard two shots and ran outside and saw the body lying just 15 feet away from her apartment. That's when she called police.

"We currently don't have anything that indicates it is gang-related," says Paso Robles Police Lieutenant Ty Lewis. "However, we are looking into that aspect."

Police are interviewing witnesses to determine a motive for the killing.

"I hear, he got into a fight like two months ago," says Fedon. "And got put in a hospital. I guess, they came here and threatened him and he called police on them and police went after them and I think this is retaliation."

And Fedon says she and other neighbors don't feel safe.

"I'm planning to move and I know a couple of other neighbors are planning to move," says Fedon."I prayed last night for the young man's soul and pray they find the person or persons that did this."

Police don't yet have a description of the suspect or suspect vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Paso Robles Police Department.
