Vigil in New York City on One Year Anniversary of Trayvon Martin Death

NEW YORK, NY - According to CBS, the family of Trayvon Martin will attend a candlelight vigil at Union Station in New York City Tuesday night. Union Station is the location of a "Million Hoodie March" that sparked multiple ceremonies across the country after the 17-year-old was killed.

On February 26, 2012, Martin was killed in his Sanford, Fla. neighborhood by George Zimmerman. At the time, Zimmerman was the neighborhood watch leader and claims the shooting took place after the two were in a confrontation.

The killing led to multiple marches, protests and vigils over race issues all across the country. The moment of silence and ceremony will take place at 7:17 ET/ 4:17 PT.
