SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif- The search for San Luis Obispo's Ambassador has finally come to an end. It's a new job to promote the city. Contestants worked very hard making videos and trying to brand themselves as the face of SLO.
The victor is Bentley Murdock. He is a professional musician and an 18 year resident of San Luis Obispo. Duties for his new job as an ambassador include promoting San Luis Obispo's hotels, events and showcasing what the city has to offer. "What we want to do is reach outside of the county, reach outside of the state, we want to reach out be people who want to come here just because of events we are putting on and because they have learned something about the community and the county through the things that we do," said Bentley Murdock, the SLO Ambassador.
To say the least, Murdock is passionate about the city and its community. "There's just an atmosphere of the generosity and the genuine nature of the people that I want more than anything to support and help with," said Murdock.
Murdock said he can't wait to hit the ground running with his new ideas for bringing in people and bucks to the city, but he said we will have to wait and see.
"It's a secret, I cant tell," Murdock said laughing. Murdock will serve as the ambassador for a year and will receive a salary of 50-thousand dollars.
