SANTA MARIA, Calif.- February 29th marks the one year anniversary of the death of Antoinette Raygoza, the 20-year-old woman who was run over and killed by her former boyfriend.
"I can't tell you how much I miss her, I miss her a lot, and yeah, it's been a year, but tomorrow we're going to miss her the same," said Debbie Garcia, the victim's aunt.
Raygoza was killed last year in Santa Maria after her former boyfriend, Jack Misiaszek ran over and killed her with his truck in the 1600 block of North McClelland Street.
Garcia told Central Coast News Antoinette was a people person who everyone liked. According to Garcia, Antoinette wanted to be a pediatrician one day because she loved kids.
Misiaszek was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in state prison earlier this month, for felony charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and attempted carjacking with a gang allegation.
A memorial for Raygoza is scheduled this Saturday at Preisker Park. Raygoza's family tells Central Coast News they plan on putting a plaque on a tree in memory of her.
