Man Who Killed Former Santa Barbara Junior Varsity Coach Pleads Guilty

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- It's a guilty plea for the man who killed a former Santa Barbara High Junior Varsity Baseball Coach according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney.

78-year-old Lau Van Huynh pled guilty to a Felony Hit and Run Driving.

He will serve one year behind bars at Santa Barbara County Jail and will serve felony probation for three years.

If he violates his probation, he faces four years behind bars.

Huynh hit Chavez who was walking on Highway 101 Southbound back on January 15.

Chavez died after Huynh hit him.

Huynh's sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 4.
