GOLETA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a structure fire this morning, March 1st around 10:33am at a local restaurant in Goleta.
According to SBC FD, the fire happened at 5735 Hollister Ave. in Goleta.
SBC FD responded three engines, a ladder truck, a rescue/ambulance and a battalion chief to the scene. SBC FD was assisted by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department.
First arriving firefighters found a grease fire at a restaurant. Employees attempted to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful. Firefighters were able to knock the fire down and prevent it from spreading to the remaining portions of the building. The fire was contained to the fryer and the hood system of the restaurant.
One firefighter sustained second degree burns to both hands. He was treated at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
