County Gets Ready To Buy Back Guns

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- You could get some cold, hard cash for turning over your unwanted guns this weekend in Santa Clara County.

The county is sponsoring a gun buyback program for handguns, shotguns and rifles. Those weapons will receive $100. If the gun you turn in qualifies as an assault weapon, you get $200, no questions asked.

The buyback takes place Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Firearms need to be unloaded and transported in your vehicle.
