SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol has canceled a statewide BLUE ALERT courtesy of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department after a man opened fire on officers.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department: On Friday, March 01, 2013, at approximately 1120 hours, deputies responded to a call of an unwanted person at the 11000 block of 2nd Street in the City of Yucaipa. The unwanted subject, Brian David Forrett, had been continually harassing the person who lived at the 2nd Street address and the reporting party wanted deputy assistance to have him leave. As the first deputy arrived on scene FORRETT, pulled a gun from his waistband and fired shots at the deputy yelling that he was going to kill the

deputy. The deputy returned fire shattering the front windshield. FORRETT jumped into his vehicle,
backed his vehicle into the deputy's unit, drove up on a neighboring front lawn and fled the scene.
FORRETT is also wanted for PC 187 out of Riverside Police Department's area. FORRETT is wanted
and should be considered armed and dangerous. It is believed the suspect could possibly travel to Washington state. Law Enforcement Officers approach and apprehend with extreme caution.
