SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --
Central Coast News battled it out in the bowling alley for a good cause.
For the past four years, radio
station KZOZ has challenged Central Coast News to the annual bowling fundraiser
benefit for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County.
Central Coast News won KZOZ by 22
points!
The "Disco Bowl" took place at Mustang Lanes on the Cal
Poly San Luis Obispo campus.
More than 300 bowlers attended
the event to raise money and awareness for mentorship
programs.
"It takes about a thousand
dollars a year to fund a mentoring match," says Patty Carpenter of Big Brothers
Big Sisters."So every single dollar that we get is super
beneficial."
The mentor programs include children from Paso Robles
all the way down to Nipomo.
The event is expected to raise
more than $25,000.
