SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Pioneer Valley High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) Chapter showed off their farm work during National FFA Week.

School officials say the group let the student body sample their homegrown fruits and vegetables.  They also made students aware of the benefits of raising an animal with a petting zoo with pigs, chickens, rabbits, and sheep.  These projects are showcased at the Santa Barbara County Fair every year.

"It really got the students involved and we showed them that FFA makes everything fun,'' said Pioneer Valley High School Junior and FFA Historian Nelly Guerra.

The Pioneer Valley High School FFA has more than 400 members.  The FFA has more than 550,000 members throughout the county, including more than 70,000 members in California.
