Barry has covered stories related to local, scholastic, collegiate and professional sports, and has received numerous accolades throughout his accomplished career; including the prestigious Keystone Press Award, which he has received numerous times for his work that has appeared in The Mercury, The Times Herald in Norristown, the Delaware County Times, Daily Local News in West Chester, and the Reporter in Lansdale.
Writing has always been a driving force in Barry's life from an early age, winning story-writing contests and garnering praise at his elementary school in Limerick, PA. By freshman year of high school, he was the coordinator and writer for a local section in two local weekly newspapers, and also wrote for the local Pennsylvania paper before finishing high school.
Barry then went on to earn his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from Temple University in Philadelphia where he graduated Cum Laude as a student. He served as the sports editor and managing editor of the university paper, The Temple News.
