Police Investigating "Violent Crime" at Santa Maria Home

Posted: Updated:

SANTA MARIA, Calif - Santa Maria Police are investigating what they are calling a violent crime at the 1100 block of West Donovan Road. Central Coast News asked authorities if the crime was a homicide or if someone died, but as of Monday evening, they are not releasing any details.

Police were called to the home before 4:00pm Monday afternoon.

"We have no information to suggest that people, citizens in the community are in danger because what we are investigating or related to it," said Sergeant Paul Van Meel, Santa Maria Police Department.

Central Coast News spoke with neighbors, who were just too scared to go on camera, and described the people who live inside the home as a "bad group of guys." Neighbors also told Central Coast News the people moved into the home about 3 months ago and have seen police at the home prior to the recent incident.

When Central Coast News asked authorities if anyone was injured, "well it's being investigated as a violent crime and that's a part of determining what did or did not happen," said Van Meel.
