Lompoc Theater Expected to be Handed Over to Non-profit Organization

LOMPOC, Calif. - The Lompoc Theater is expected to get a new owner and the announcement is expected at tonight's city council meeting.

The city council will talk about transferring the ownership of the historic theater to the Lompoc Theater Project Corporation. The non-profit has been vocal and supports the restoration of the deteriorating building and re-opening it as a community theater.

The city paid for an engineering study on the building last year. Roof repairs and possible structural repairs are still needed, including the marquee which has been deemed a hazard to anyone walking by.
