SLO Economic Development Manager Announces Resignation

Posted: Updated:

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - San Luis Obispo City Economic Development Manager Claire Clark has announced she will be resigning from her position later this year.

"Although I will miss the robust issues in public service, the time has come for new personal and professional experiences," said Claire Clark.

According to a city news release, Clark came to public service in 2004 to spearhead the city's Seismic Retrofit Program resulting in significant historic preservation, safety improvements and economic revitalization in downtown.

Clark was then hired as the city's Economic Development Manager in 2006, and quickly took advantage of opportunities to make a difference by advising business owners about government requirements and helping to promote initiatives that support the business community, the city said.

Clark's resignation will take effect June 5.

Assistant City Manager Michael Codron will work with human resources to recruit a new Economic Development Manager, the city said.
