SPOKANE, Wash. - Academics always comes before athletics at Gonzaga University, but Thursday was a bit of an exception.
The books are on the table, the laptops are open, but there was just not much work being done by students today.
Classes were not canceled, but some professors decided that a distraction as good as the Zags in the tournament was just too much.
Gonzaga beat Southern in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, 64-58.
The Zags advance to play the Wichita State Shockers on Saturday.
