SALINAS, Calif.- "He is one of the most hardworking men I know. And if anything I would love to one day be as strong as him, and have a strong heart like he does", Jeremy says as tears run down his face.
Jeremy is referring to his father, Bob Williams, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer last February. The doctors say that Bob will not survive this cancer, but they can perform a risky surgey in which he has a twenty percent chance of surviving to prolong his life.
"I will do anything to prolong my life for my children. I have four kids and I will do whatever it takes to spend more time with them. So if they tell me this surgey can prolong my life then I'll take the chance", says Bob.
One thing makes Bob especially unique. Aside from this scary diagnosis, he chooses to stay positive and make every single moment count. Bob and his close friends are crossing off his bucket list before the surgery.
They set out to go skydiving today at the Marina airport. Unfortunately, they had to reschedule for next weekend due to bad weather.
Bob chalks up the postponing of his bucklist event to natural causes saying, "I guess it was mother nature and God's way of telling me it wasn't happening today".
Bob has become a local celebrity in his own right. He has garnered supporters from all over the world due to this facebook page, Battle for Bob, and local people in his community have thrown him several fundraisers in support to help him fight his kidney cancer.
Whether he finishes his bucket list is uncertain, but one thing is for sure he will enjoy every moment with his family and friends.
