Man Airlifted To Hospital After Shooting In Salinas
SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas Police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital.
It happened around 4 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of Sunrise Street.
Police say they responded to Natividad Medical Center where they contacted the 34-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen.
The victim told them that he was standing in a driveway on Sunrise Street when the passenger of a minivan opened fire.
Investigators say the victim does not appear to have any gang association.
The victim was initially in critical condition and had to be stabilized prior to being airlifted to a San Jose hospital. Police say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, and he is expected to recover.
