SANTA CRUZ, Calif.- With branches falling from trees, waves swelling at six feet, and power outages all over the area, the wind is not a force to be reckoned with in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
There were four electrical poles that were knocked over by the wind today according to PG&E. The fallen poles caused road closings that made it hard for traffic to get around. Also, the downed electrical poles caused a loss of power for hundreds of people in the area.
One of the fallen electrical poles near Bonny Dune Elementary School left three people unable to get out of their driveway, and no power for over twelve hours.
PG&E hopes to have all the electrical poles up and running by 8 pm tonight. In the meantime, everyone in the area is keeping their fingers crossed, and hoping there is no more damage to the area.
