SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team (SCCACT) and the Santa Cruz Police Department conducted a street level drug investigation last year after citizens complained about drug sales occurring in city parks and surrounding areas.
The investigation started in September and wrapped up in late November.
In all, seven suspects were identified and charged with various crimes including possession for sales of narcotics and the sales of narcotics, according to a SCCACT news release.
One suspect has already been convicted and has been sentenced to five years in prison. The other six suspects are waiting for their court appearances to face charges that have already been filed by the Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office, the news release stated.
