CALIFORNIA - Firefighters have their hands full as they battle brush fires across California on Thursday.
First off, crews are battling the "Springs Fire" that broke out Thursday morning near the 101 Freeway in the Ventura County city of Camarillo. Ventura County Fire officials say the fire has grown to 6,500 acres and is currently at zero percent containment. CBS Los Angeles reports that the blaze has damaged at least one home and several RVs, and has forced evacuations in nearby communities.
The second brush fire is burning in the Riverside County city of Banning. Riverside County Fire officials say the "Summit Fire" has grown to nearly 3,000 acres and is 40 percent contained. The fire started Wednesday afternoon.
The third brush fire is burning north of Butte Meadows in Tehama County. Cal Fire says the "Panther Fire" has burned approximately 2,000 acres and is 10 percent contained. The fire started Wednesday morning.
Local firefighters and resources have been dispatched to these and other fire incidents.
San Luis Obispo Cal Fire has sent three strike teams of crews and a strike team of dozers to the fire in Camarillo. It has also sent a strike team of engines, crews and various overhead support to the Riverside fire.
The Santa Barbara City Fire Department has sent two engines and a strike team leader as part of a five-engine strike team to the fire in Camarillo.
Cal Fire says it has canceled all days off for all fire personnel in the southern region of the state, which includes all personnel south of the Monterey-Santa Cruz County line.
The Red Cross has opened two shelters for residents impacted by the "Springs Fire" in Camarillo.

Calvary Community Chapel -- 380 Mobil Avenue
Thousand Oaks Community Center -- 2525 N. Moorpark Road
These evacuation centers have snacks and beverages available as well as information updates regarding the fire. Pets are welcome and Animal Services is co-located on site to assist.
