LOMPOC, Calif. - The Lompoc Fire Department held its lottery on Friday morning for local groups to sell "safe and sane" fireworks for its upcoming Fourth of July celebration.
Fire officials held a blind draw Friday morning to pick the winners. The six winning groups in the lottery include Hmong Alliance Church, Lompoc High School Baseball, Calvary Chapel, Lompoc Valley Baptist Church, Lompoc Tsunami Aquatics, and Lompoc High School Music.
Two dozen organizations applied for applications, hoping to raise thousands of dollars for their organization.
The city recently agreed to resume "safe and sane" fireworks sales after a several year hiatus.
"Safe and Sane" fireworks sales will begin on June 28th and run through July 4th.
