WATSONVILLE, Calif - A 65-year-old man is dead after the bicycle he was riding along Highway 129 East of Coward Road was hit by two cars early Wednesday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, the victim was riding his bike on the side of the road with the eastbound direction of traffic and then veered into traffic, directly in front of a Ford Mustang. When the Mustang collided with the victim, he landed in the westbound lane of traffic. Investigators say that a man driving a Ford Pickup then collided with the bicyclist after he was thrown into the westbound land of traffic.
CHP Officers said that the bicyclist was not wearing any safety equipment. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
