SACRAMENTO, Calif.- The numbers 24, 36, 21, 45 and 42 turned into $1,159,103 million for Lea Yaneza when she won the POWERBALL prize on Monday August 5,
says CA Lottery.
"I checked the website and at first I thought I matched three numbers. I
was jumping up and down, then I realized I matched five," said Yaneza.
Yaneza only missed the number 15, says CA Lottery. According to CA Lottery,
since not all six numbers were matched Wednesday's POWERBALL is up to
$400 million, making it the third largest POWERBALL jackpot of all time.
CA Lottery says Yaneza bought the winning ticket at Landess Arco Serice in
CA Lottery explains that POWERBALL is played in 43 states including
California. According to CA Lottery, players pick five numbers from 1 to 59 plus
a Powerball nubmer from 1 to 35. Draw times are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:59
p.m. PST says CA Lottery. According to the CA Lottery, there are 21,000
California Lottery retailers where people can buy the $2 ticket.
