SANTA MARIA, Calif.- The Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office and the Santa Maria Police Department is hosting a Traffic Safety and Awareness Memorial Walk this weekend to honor the victims killed in traffic accidents.
The one-mile walk will be held Sunday, September 8. The event will take place at Preisker Park, from 10:30 am to 3 pm. The purpose of the walk is to increase public awareness about the risks of dangerous driving, honor and remember victims killed in traffic accidents and raise funds for the families of these victims. People and animals both have fallen victim to dangerous drivers; therefore, owners of licensed, leashed, and safe dogs are encouraged to bring their dogs. Free live music and Santa Maria BBQ for sale.
1st Walk - 11:00 am, check in starts at 10:30 am.
2nd Walk - 12:00 pm, check in starts at 11:30 am.
3rd Walk - 1:00 pm, check in starts at 12:30 pm.
* Adults: $20, Adults with a dog: $15, Children 7 and over: $10, Children under 7: Free
