System to provide continuous coverage for reduced abduction risk
BROOKFIELD, Wis., Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- RF Technologies®, a leading provider of RFID healthcare safety and security solutions, will install its Safe Place® Infant Security Solution at the U.S. Naval Hospital on the Naval Support Activity (NSA) Naples support site in Gricignano, Italy.
Designed to reduce the risk of abductions, Safe Place will replace virtually all infant abduction prevention components at the hospital for continuous monitoring of a 4680-square-foot area.
"RF Technologies is proud to be the vendor of choice for the hospital at NSA Naples. Safe Place brings a simple, reliable and comfortable infant security solution to the hospital's littlest patients," said Michelle Dalton, marketing director.
New components will include reliable door controllers, computers for central communication, and patented Smart Sense® technology with multiple methods of tamper detection for reduced false alarms. The water-resistant Smart Sense transmitter is secured around an infant's ankle using soft banding material, ensuring the comfort of the infant and peace of mind for the family.
Staff can easily monitor each baby via automated software that alerts them if a band is loose, has been tampered with, cut, or has been removed from the infant. The system will automatically lock the door and notify staff members of a potential security threat via audible and visual alarms if an infant wearing a transmitter comes within range of a monitored exit.
"RF Technologies, a veteran-owned company, has a major presence in Armed Service hospitals, and we look forward to carrying out this heritage with the addition of the NSA Naples hospital," said David Barden, national sales manager.
Safe Place has already been installed in several Department of Defense hospitals for the U.S. Navy, Army and Air Force. All equipment for will ship overseas in October for installation in November.
NSA Naples is host to more than 100 separate commands and is located approximately 145 miles from Rome.
