EUGENE, OR - Here is a positive story because sometime you just want to read about what is going right in the world.
"She came up to me about a month and a half ago, and she said, Mom for my birthday this year I don't need anything. I just want everybody to just give presents for the kids in need," said Melissa Bermudez talking about her daughter, Kyleigh.
All Kyleigh wanted for her birthday was to help others. This year friends, family, and even complete strangers, helped to make her birthday wish come true. "These are all boxes for the foster kids. They're signed girls clothes up here, and boy's clothes. These are a bunch of shoes, pants and jammies and stuff. And here's toys for the foster kids," said Kyleigh. showing off all her Birthday presents.
Kyleigh and her mom are working with an organization called A family For Every Child to make sure all those presents go to a good home. "All of the donations will be delivered, and they will disperse them around town to homes where the foster children are," explained Melissa
"It's kind of crazy that someone her age thinks of doing something so generous and so kind for someone else. You know, Kyleigh's just doing her part to help kids in foster care. I think there's a lot that everyone can do," said Rebecca Rhodes, a family for every child representative.
Kyliegh said that the best part of her birthday was being able to give all the stuff to foster kids.
