Promotes and sells advertising and services existing accounts. Customarily and regularly works outside of the office to execute sales. When inside office, generally completes the following tasks related to the outside sales: identifying and contacting leads, setting client meetings outside the office, attending sales meetings, creating sales presentations, drafting sales contracts, and assembling sales reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop new accounts through prospecting of new business.
Prepare written and oral presentations to clients and prospective clients.
Maintain thorough knowledge of television programming, audience delivery, advertising rates and practices for competitive television, radio, newspaper, billboard and other media in market.
Analyze competitive cost information for various media based upon audience delivery, demographics and advertising rates.
Negotiate advertising budgets in competition with other media.
Coordinate with station's production department for commercials.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates will be selected from applicants having the best combination of the following qualifications and experience:
Experience as a television account executive or other media sales such as radio or print advertising.
Other work experience involving the sale of products or services to businesses.
Record of growth and stability in employment.
College education in marketing, business or communications.
Solid knowledge of simple business mathematics.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Knowledge of television industry and/or other media.
